dropping out at 17. Bro you had like one more year
dont know how parents let their kids drop out. My dad worked from home and he'd be like why are you not at school? And then he would proceed to beat my ass...
imagine not having parents that care about you...
Haha man I have Nigerian parents. I’ve been yelled at, punished, smacked, and scolded for practically my entire life over school. To Nigerians education is everything. It took forever for me to convince my parents that you can actually get your diploma without going to school. My mom still tries to convince me to go to university lol I just tell her that after I’m done wity this I’ll think about it. I feel really bad for putting my parents thru so much stress.
“ An HVAC Technician with mid-career experience which includes employees with 5 to 10 years of experience can expect to earn an average total compensation of $45,000 based on 773 salaries.”
I dunno if that’s the same number you saw but you can literally make that much waiting tables w tips at a $$-$$$$ restaurant tbh.
Job security tho
These types of jobs r very in demand. Which could drive up wages. Op is young he's doing better than most.

Y'all living way in the past. If u can get money ur good that's it

Mental health issues. If you’ve never had really bad anxiety and depression you can’t understand what it’s like. It was hell. I couldn’t focus on anything and I didn’t care about anything bc I didn’t even care about my life. I basically didn’t do anything in class besides put my head down and sleep and when I got home I never did homework I would just close my eyes and do the same thing.

I dropped out of HS at like the end/middle of 11th grade because I stopped going to school. Took my cities GED equivalent. enrolled in my local CC. Transferred to a 4 year and I’m set to graduate in 2021.

Too late I’m already done haha I already have my diploma
like I completely get not going to college but at least having a high school diploma opens so many more doors
When it happened I felt like a loser but now in retrospect it was the best decision I ever made. I’m only 17 and at this rate I will have a career before I’m 20.
Talking about maturity when you’re only 17 good luck OP

Eh. Never met a waiter that couldn’t find a job. Jobs like that have high turnover rates but that just means they’re easier to get. Even warehouse jobs can get up to 40k+ with no experience. Not to say trades don’t have its own benefits but if you’re willing to work hard as a waiter, call center, whatever, the money is there

Out of curiosity where were you when you were 17
I f***ed up so badly with my education that I can't even judge OP. I have a masters and still ended up just being a high school teacher because it turns out I liked teaching and it's way steadier than professorship. Crazy, right? I could have done that with a $30,000 BA. Instead I racked up a ton of debt I don't need in a low paying field.
Good news is that I can make an extra 10k a year with my MA and it opens me up to gigs at community colleges if I wanted to go that route. Once my credential clears I'll be making 70k with a 90k cap and great benefits for my family. I can also take more classes to make more money. One of my mentors makes like 95k a year in LA Unified.
In the end though, I still tell students all the time not to f*** around in college if they don't have a plan. It's a waste of time and money. State schools are also underrated. Telling everyone they meet to go to college is terrible advice. And I enjoyed college.
Mental issues. I couldn’t be in a classroom setting anymore my anxiety was that bad. I would just ask to go to the bathroom and stay there for the whole class. I was failing every single class and it was clear I was never gonna graduate so one day my mom just said I’m not going to school anymore bc I was wasting my time.
i'd suggest working on yourself then going back to school. take a year off maybe
you're very young so you have time. don't live in regrets later
fam i expected college
U dropped out of HS? Maan
