I think it's universally agreed the war on d**** was an utter failure. Non-violent offenders getting life sentences and clogging jails, meanwhile the amount of d**** flooding the streets has seen no decline.

D**** being illegal only has negatives. Much like prostitution, d**** being illegal directly contributes to the violence around the trade. Look at prohibition, violence related to peddling alcohol was enormous. When is the last time you know someone shot for a bottle of whiskey? People offend because they know that person can't report it again much like prostitution and its just thought of as the risk to the game.

D**** heing illegal also is directly tied into thr amount of deaths related to overdose and laced substances. If people had a pharmacy system to go to rather than shifty craig up the road that cuts his product with Fent, things could play put much differently.

And once again drawing a parallel to prostitution, d**** being illegal hasn't made them any harder to get your hands on. I dont smoke crack but if i craved a rock i guarantee i could source it before the day is out and have it in my bowl by tonight. All its done is make you have to go through extra steps and shadier people. Whoch if youre down bad enough to do hard d**** you certainly don't mind.

All in all there's very little true benefit in having ghem illegal other than "Drugs bad = bad things illegal" and if it stopped being policed so heavily the police could shift focus to far more imporant things than a condenting adult getting high

How does KTT feel about the idea?

i think from almost all angles its pretty smart to legalize all d****. but idk i have a personal conflict with the idea of it. i do think it normalizes things that maybe should not be normalized, if that makes sense. as the above user said, it would stop a ton of overdoses and crime, but also runs the line of making us all d***ged up bots, which i guess maybe we already are. idk though man, for some reason its not something im as onboard with as i feel i should be

How you had it before the edit is right. And they've done a good job dehumanizing people that are into d**** as well fear mongering when d**** and legal are in the same sentence

keeping d**** illegal is an absolutely fabulous way to make heaps of money that you can then easily launder by buying heaps of cheap single family homes using your many corporate entities when you crash the market lol

and you have so much cheap labor with the prison population in america. you gotta keep at least everything but weed and alcohol more or less illegal

Hope of a forward society. Hope of a world where someone wanting to ease pain (user) and someone wanting to feed their family (seller) aren't completely dismissed and treated as worthless. Hope where someone wanting to ease their pain doesn't have to fear if even a safe dose will kill them because it's cut. Hope for a country that can hopefully refocus away from d**** and to actually bettering the country by not treating it like public enemy #1.

In the current state of d*** handling, there is no hope. Not for user, not for seller, and not to average person caught in the middle.

Gonna stay illegal cause like others said it benefits a lot of businesses that use legal slave labor, and American propaganda of “tough on crime” runs really f***ing deep.

People probably thought weed would never be legalized too

I don’t think it’s too crazy that we get to a point where we can over turn other things as well.

No i don't believe it's as far fetched as some say. There are countries that have done it and we have them to use as reference. And good work is already being done on weed and psychedelics use in medicine. It's a long process. But more young people are not as brainwashed about d**** as the war of d**** generation so i think it'll just take a few generational passes to see it to fruition.

Yep, that's what started the opioid epidemic, and then we pulled the rug out from the people who were hooked on Oxy and they went with heroin instead.

It would have been much safer to continue giving them Oxy and helping them get off of it

Tbh we have legalized d**** for the rich right now anyway

Rich people can get out of consequences for them and are able to source quality stuff either through legal prescriptions or using "weed-carriers". Only danger they face is ODing if they aren't smart about it.

Only people criminalization will continue to hurt is the lower classes
