pneumonia· editedThe acclaim is warranted, feel good pop music and everything works. The lyrics compliment this sound and her vocals so everything comes across extremely catchy and polished. Even the slightly weaker songs like Pretty Please have some attractive qualities like the slick bass line and cute pre-chorus.
Album title also fits with all these songs too, it’s very reminiscent of the 80s whilst including modern elements of nu disco. Levitating is probably my fav none single on here, lush production and the iconic talk box is always a nice addition. I can’t see why anyone who liked the singles somehow suddenly doesn’t like the other songs on here with the exception of the last two.
Top 2 behind Krule and easily up there with some of the best pop records from the past few years.
