Wasn’t Renaissance her first solo album since Lemonade? And that was in 2016 plus a Tidal exclusive like TLOP
If we’re counting collabs Everything is Love didn’t have any hits but I remember Savage Remix being big during Covid
Lemonade had songs pushed to radio n s*** they just didn't connect. I wasn't counting collabs but yeah Savage was huge
@atthepyramids she had us waiting on this one cousin it better knock.

right because the snippets i’m hearing were mediocre at best
Idk man.. hype just ain't really there? Future Nostalgia should've elevated her profile significantly, the way its singles did like 2b streams each. She should have accumulated much more hype by now and not be on the same #3-debuting level of pre-Future Nostalgia.
Training Session ain't it though, it sounds like she regressed back into the generic 2017 pop of her debut album. Houdini was cute but not a good lead.
I think the Houdini hook is not as good and catchy like her previous hits. It’s kinda annoying honestly
And Training Season sounds too 2021 to me
But I wonder if that pop wave of the early 20s lead by her and Abel has passed already and the GP is not interested in this type of sound anymore? Even “yes, and?” feels like it came at the end of the party
so meh, i think she’s hardly progressed and this direction doesnt really excite much
she’s so pretty though
This new single is so mid
Sounds very boring, not a lot going on with the song and the instrumental is basic

She waited way too long
Extended version is better but I think I might prefer Houdini more than this one

After Future Nostalgia it looked like Dua was going to transition to an album artist but she waited a long time to follow up and for better or worse remained a singles artist to the public. Now she's in a position that if her singles don't deliver she has no hype basically instead of people anticipating the album they're anticipating a hit and she needs that rn. These 2 singles aren't it that's just a fact

I didn't want to sound like a hater so I didn't post about Houdini itt but it's terrible ngl. The idea was there but the execution wasn't especially the hook. And heavily agreed "yes, and?" sounds outdated and she's already dropping a remix to it so they're aware how much it's not sticking
