making such a safe album with Danny f***ing L Harle in the studio is crazy smh.

I knew I was gonna be disappointed, and indeed, this is a low stakes summer album. Of course the songs are efficient but it feels like Nostalgia light to me, with a little shift in tones.

so yeah this won't stick as long as Nostalgia and if she doesn't know that already she'll quickly realize it.

crazy to think that she took so much time to come up with this tbh

Dua was dropping music constantly after FN and getting hits

And both the debut and FN had reissues. I don’t understand where this whole “she takes too long to drop new music” came from

a nice wholesome, well produced pop album. i do think it was a bit frontloaded. i loved end of an era as an opener, then with houdini and training season i was seeing the vision.

these walls is good, like the melody on that. french exit is hottt, one of my favorites. then the second half did cool off a bit for me. my biggest mark is probably the lyrics, and specifically the illusion chorus. nobody suggested a rewrite for that? and it was chosen as the single? lol. falling forever isn't my fav either and they should've gone ahead and filled anything for love out, i like it for what it is tho.

it's fine. but i also don't bang with future nostalgia quite as much as most, so there wasn't a scenario where i was too disappointed i guess. as far as the "trip hop" and "britpop" influences...i'd say there's more of one than the other lol

the singles are the most future nostalgia of the bunch. end of an era should've started the album cycle

I found Dua Lipa safe and boring from the start. Don't know why everyone f***ed with Future Nostalgia so much..

never considered her as such, however given the ambition she demonstrated during the rollout for the record, one could have expected her to show out more than that. When I say she played it safe, it means that this new album doesn’t contain much new ideas in terms of hooks (which are for the most part quite generic and I hate to say it), vocal layering (which she could very much gain from) or inspirations

I replayed it as a whole and I truly think the album is awesome, she really did it again

It seems like people were expecting Future Nostalgia 2 but I'm personally truly happy that she went for a more "sunny" album. I just wish the album was longer
