Been heavy into jazz on behalf of me being in my 30’s now and I’ve returned to the Casiopea page on streaming to find they’ve added a few more albums than I remembered. Going through them is wonderful. These guys have been doing this for like 50 years now.

What really draws me to jazz (I prefer these breezy fusion songs and easier songs mostly) is the anticipation of what comes next. There’s so many twists and turns in jazz that you don’t get in most genres. For other genres, it’s usually for the most part a loop, maybe there’s a bridge/intro/outro but the song never strays too far away.

Another thing I like is hearing the influence it had on video game music. Listening to this stuff is like being in your own game. And this band had a direct effect on that. They were one of if not the biggest jazz fusion band in Japan during the 80’s when these games were being created.

Real, finna be fall soon so its time to get back on jazz s***
