Wtf is critical race theory in a couple sentences?

White people were racist in the past (still are) and certain types of white people don't like when we teach about how they were racist in the past (still are)

    aye cuh

people so quick to say violence doesn’t solve anything but i can promise you 95% of these people have never gotten hit before and that’s why they continue to act like this

Sometimes a little violence is the best option to humble someone

Wouldn't necessarily say that everyone who is active in politics is LARPing but within the realm of modern political discourse and who's active in the government: most of them are either grifting (Marjorie Taylor Greene, for example) or being paid off by lobbyists while not principled at all. Whole system is just corrupted at this point with dirty money.

Depends on the state, WV is known as the most deprived place of any sort of progressive ideas and it's also the poorest state. There's other areas in the Appalachian mountains that are filled with transplants or highly educated people that aren't backwards or messed up in the head.

Yes and for every couple of those highly educated Appalachian residents there’s another 10 ‘actual country’ residents that still throw up the southern flag despite the fact their state was on the north’s side during the civil war lol

I and my family have experienced a LOT of Appalachian culture and those ‘transplants’ are not the majority nor are they even welcomed by their neighbors.

This is surely selective perception, again, not doubting that you've had different experiences in WV (especially because that state falls short of quite literally every 'pro' that even other places do). There are other areas that are nowhere near the stereotype, especially after COVID since people continue to gentrify and remote workers are now pretty common.

That's bizarre but not surprising, Oregon has a lot of bleed over from Idaho (which is literally a haven for backwards thinking and hate groups).

I get that I said I’m from WV but that does not mean my experiences and reasoning are exclusively based on that lol but if you’re unwilling to have an honest discussion and would rather pigeonhole me that’s fine too

This is a neutral discussion, not doubting what you're saying but it really depends on the state and area you're in.

Yeah it must have been that every racist I talked to from there was influenced by Idaho or directly came from there.

I’d usually lean it more towards that the conditions that deem an area ‘country’ also help breed isolated white people who live in a bubble almost entirely separate from the outside world which allows them to sit comfortably in their mentalities from the 50s for however long they want.

    But Idaho feels right.

Also depends on what you’re defining as actual country. I know a lot of KTT grew up in high populated areas so idk if you’re coming with a completely different definition of that than I am.
