Yes they are upgrading seven bridges for Odyessy but no clear eta on when they will finish , how many seats . They are supposed to finish before Odyessy though
You have to experience a movie filmed for 1.43 on a 1.43 screen. That’s the mindblowing experience. The actual 70mm 1.43 is only a slight upgrade over the dual laser. It’s not as important as just seeing a 1.43. I saw Part Two like three times just in a 70mm old school theater and it was fantastic. Honestly seeing 1.43 and doubling back for 70mm is the way. (Last image is 1.43)

Also end this collectible film strip gimmick . It’s creating a hierarchy of fomo of “ I saw it first 70mm iMax the best way best format “ . It’s creating a pretentious level to film watching vs more accessible to all . With no clear desire to make many more screens by imax who would make more money
100%
I understand the value of exclusivity too but it ain’t the time for that in the current state of cinema. And it ties back to my stance that the biggest issue is the size of the cheapest screens don’t warrant the ridiculous ticket prices

I mean each major city should have one near by at least still makes it exclusive . Any place with enough tourism where it will get properly used . Indiana having one but not Chicago is crazy . We getting one in the burbs soon but we used to have one at navy pier
If you guys getting FOMO, there will be more screening times, and dates. I saw Dune 2 in IMAX 70MM 2.5 weeks after the movie was released.
Also, film is shot in both Digital and Film. It's optimized for both dual-laser, or 70mm IMAX. Depending on your theatre, IMAX Laser could be better, this is the case for Canada (GTA). The thing that matters the most is that you see the movie in a 1.43:1 aspect ratio.

saw PHM in 70mm Vaughan couple weeks ago and it was an amazing experience, what makes Scotiabank better?
got 70mm for the 18th at 10:45

honestly, i find the sound design is better at scotiabank, and also think the picture is better in terms of colour.
i've seen oppenheimer, dune 2, and interstellar in both vaughan and scotiabank, and i always find my experience at scotiabank to be better.
obviously Vaughan is still amazing, the only really "bad" experience i had was tenet, i think that movie made it clear that the sound design in that theatre is definitely a level below Scotiabank.
the sound is better at scotiabank solely because it's a 12-track system, while vaughan uses the 6-track system
the film projector at vaughan is better than the digital projector at scotiabank, not only because it looks more filmic but that the colors also look more warm
it should also be noted that dune pt 3 was mainly shot on 65mm film, with a few sections on 15/70mm imax film and scenes in the desert shot on imax digital
When I said this in the Doomsday thread, you said that IMAX should remain an exclusive thing

She's the female michael b jordan to me
Good actors but not great, but very well liked by the masses and unproblematic
I feel like florence gave a way better perfomance with the little she got in Dune 2
