God I loved John Wick 4. But guys, this movie is the best movie of the year so far. It is actually so f***ing funny, great action sequences, generally great story telling, even a couple tear jerkers at the end.
Wow man. To think a D&D movie would be a top movie of 2023

DAMN KOJIMA WAS RIGHT
@grifter
Oh man he’s not lying. They did everything right. Every single little thing. It’s funny as hell, all of their comedic timings are just spot on. They included so many interesting beasts, and every action sequence felt impactful and choreographed with an actual purpose. Again, can’t believe I’m saying this about a D&D movie.

Best game adaptation this year

We’ll see about that next week tho.. I have high hopes for Nintendo
People are starving pretending this is a breath of fresh air
It's fine though, as much as the Marvel movies it's inspired by. Bradley Cooper cameo the best bit.
Movie was alright. Had some clever moments (the graveyard scene was probably my favorite), but, despite its obvious budget, it still definitely looked and felt like a film made by a couple of American comedy directors. Had a very artificial, overly clean look to it. Also, too many obvious, predictable jokes.
Do appreciate how many actual sets they used though, and animatronics.
The Legend of Vox Machina is way better.
Maybe I don't quite get the game lol.
I thought there was a general set of rules, character types, and objectives..but the story is made up by one guy each time they play. And the other players are making decisions and rolling dice within that guy's story.
There is some lore behind it, but that lore can be bent as much as the dungeon master (DM) and players want tbh. It’s super fun, my friends and I have been playing once a week for the last year or so
Really enjoyed this movie. Does a great job encapsulating the spirit of DnD, how it can have very serious adventures with tons of tomfoolery within
saw some critics saying it was too silly for fantasy setting....
Didn’t even realize this was made by the two guys who did Game Night, lowkey makes me want to watch it now
Game Night had some clean editing
Game Night had some clean editing
The game piece to real life transitions were clean affff
I wonder if it’ll be on Paramount+ as well
this went so hard. marketing really f***ed up with this one. plus they chose to release it at a terrible time
Insanely good. Amazing adventure movie. Wish it didn't release during exam time. Glad I watched it now.
Top 3 of the year with Guardians 3 and John Wick 4. I don't even like Fantasy stuff that much but this was just so much fun.
