I haven’t seen an OVO artist complain about their situation since the label inception besides maybe Makonnen who should’ve never been signed

In fact I do. Every artist has made absolutely no leaps career wise on ovo because of drake or the label not promoting them enough. The reason why they haven’t left the label now is because they have dug such a deep hole for themselves that they literally can’t go anywhere or can’t re-invent themselves. They chose to stay with ovo because that’s better than being a completely no name in the industry if they leave.
Drake and ovo knew exactly what they were doing. Drake just uses these artist to write for them and I guess gives them a small percentage or whatever and that’s how these artist make a living. Look at NAV who has literally no talent compared to dvsn, majid, and even Roy, yet he has come so far because The Weeknd, cash, and the whole label pushed him to no limits the same wasnt done for any artist on ovo

nav being a rapper or not, the point I was making was the label pushed him to be great. Drake or ovo still hasn’t done any of that for any artist on ovo. Not even party. Roy, dvsn, majid, even Baka all write for drake except they never get credit for it.
