I used to love these games man, just a hacking, slashing good time.

Pure nostalgia. Tfw having to go to other side of the map cause your CPU ally is failing so hard, return to your own post and notice your ally is failing again 2 more times in the same match

Also they always biased towards Lu Bu

  • Spent a s*** load of time playing Dynasty Warriors 4

new ps blog post detailing the game

    blog.playstation.com/2024/09/25/dynasty-warriors-origins-hands-on-report

looks like you can control other musou warriors, but only for a limited time(?) in each mission. the nameless hero does seem to be the only hero to take through the main story.

hopefully there is a free mode (or empires sequel) that allows all musou warriors to be controlled and leveled up.

you can change the outfit afaik. there is preorder dlc for new costumes. sure they are just colour accents but I don't see why this wouldn't indicate that more detailed costumes could be unlockable.

you can set three kingdom generals into your squad and take over them for a limited time during battles. hopefully this indicates there will be a free mode to level up and play as said generals.

unfortunately a lot of this might come from dlc or hopefully free patches (or maybe a Empires rerelease down the line?!?). if there are reviews out there you know of I would love to read them! havent seen any drop yet...

Does this have like a single player campaign (where you explore) or are you killing a bunch of enemies every level? And before someone asks lol no I haven't ever played these games, but seen them since like the PS1 and looks like all you do is just fight in battles. Would be fun but gets boring quick for me.

there is an overworld map and side content in the single player campaign. also famitsu interview revelead there is a ng+ with new content to interact with

    Choose your path

The protagonist will eventually face a pivotal choice.
He must discern heroes who can bring order to the chaos and determine who he will walk with.
In the end, he may even have to cross blades with those who once fought by his side.
With the heroes he chooses, the protagonist must be prepared to follow the path they believe in, no matter the cost.

Explore the "World Map" on your own feet

The "World Map" vividly represents the grand world of the Three Kingdoms. The protagonist will traverse the continent on his own feet and experience the story.
There will be not only large-scale historical battles, but also "Missions" to suppress rebellions or rescue government forces and "Skirmish" against remnants of defeated armies or bandits.

    Acquiring Weapons

When visiting towns on the World Map, you can purchase weapons. These weapons come with various "traits" and you might find some rare and valuable ones.
Additionally, weapons can also be acquired during battles.

    Communication with officers

Throughout the journey, the protagonist will meet many officers.
By interacting with them in towns or solving their requests and challenges, he can deepen their "Bonds". As these "Bonds" strengthen, the protagonist will become closer to the officers.

  • Seems pretty good from reviews

  • This is actually getting good reviews.

  • I can’t get over the fact that there’s only one main character, and a few side characters u can”summon” in to help you. I felt like the main appeal to me was being able to play multiple characters and mastering them, I’ll still buy day 1 but I’m skeptical
