He's probably the biggest music critic around rn, why would you want him to ignore the music you care about. I feel like most people promoting albums would rather get a bad fantano review at this point than no fantano review.

people who hate fantano probably hate all music journalists. which is fair cos they're often annoying but they're part of the industry. people need music writers to promote their music, give me fantano over a lot of pitchfork. at least he keeps it about the music

I mentioned Adam and Ak to say no one watches them because of their color. People tuned into AK because he was the first nigga on YouTube covering rap news the way he did. And Adam was like the only platform interviewing SoundCloud rappers before they blew up. Same way fantano was the first one doing what he does.

And that rap critic nigga is a weirdo and simply is not as good at what he does as Fantano.

Say what you want about Anthony but he’s strictly focused on the quality of the music whatever genre that may be.

Why would anyone want someone who doesn't understand their music to review it and get trashed? For the sake of promo? All press ain't good press. If you're an artist you want to welcome good press about you, not a video slamming your latest album.

Ak has the most horrible opinions of anyone in his field. Fantano might be corny, but you can't say dude doesn't know music and his videos are typically well structured.

quality is debatable. and you want to talk about disparaging when fantano went off on Wale for copying Drake's reggae style when he was making afrobeats inspired songs which is native to him and not even close to reggae lmao.

Fantano is probably the only "serious" music reviewer on youtube who isn't a total pretentious snob when it comes to writing off all younger hip hop rappers (certainly way less than DEHH or Shawn Cee)

End of the day he ain't nearly as annoying or obsessed with clout like an Ak nor is he as snobby as guys like Shawn Cee or DEHH. And he also isn't as politically inclined about judging music that fits his agenda like most modern music critics on the internet.

Hate on Fantano all u want for some of his awful takes, but hes one of the few out there who has built a music critic persona that can be understanding of the new sounds in these various genres and encourage it.
