i dont know its not always the case. sometimes they hate and then the hate gets stronger and more solidified with more people listening to join in and (unfortunately) with negative critic reviews. sometimes they hate but then it grows on people or theres a backlash against the hate and it becomes loved. I also see a positive critic review turning the hate around as well, as much as people want to act like those big critics dont matter, they have an effect on peoples opinions even subconsciously. we'll have to see

imo if you hate an album on the first listen (especially in a situation like this), you'll never have a worse opinion on it than the first listen because the hype behind the album was what originally got you into it

Like people said Eternal Atake was bad, but then some songs are good and more people appreciate it than hated it on the first day

I agree with your point but I think more people are casual listeners or fans rather than actual stans, and the hype wasn't as big of a factor, but maybe I'm wrong

I think casual listeners can be affected just as much, i.e.: they keep hearing the name Whole Lotta Red on Twitter and Instagram, but when they listen to it, it's not what they expect so they dismiss it as as being terrible

It's like you not being much into food, but you hear a local place is great and then the pizza is s***

yeah true. just personally I haven't seen this much of a negative reaction to a big name album since the big day or maybe one of the eminem ones, that I can think of. not just from twitter but from friends I follow on instagram im seeing stories about it. it seems out of proportion to me so that's why im saying im interested to see what's going to happen and how the narrative will change.

    it'll get better, no doubt.

like for the big day, its truly one of the albums (in my recent memory) where I can actually remember the general outlook on the album being even worse than it was on the first day

The age is an excuse tho lol

you'll see when you're 30... music made for 13 year olds won't hit the same way. I'd think that was obvious.
