He's right and I said this on a different thread. Drake cannot do what Kendrick just did. There is simply no equivalent to the cali sound, down south sound, Midwest or east coast. And everything these guys expounded upon is true too.

Kendrick has been building on this since euphoria saying "they run to America, they imitate heritage" and then nailed the point home on the last verse of not like us.

not gonna lie, after making this list, it really shows me how Smoke Dawg's death changed his perspective on our city and his willingness to publicly involve himself in our music scene - after 2017/2018 it seems like a lot changed and he distanced himself from our sound

if you want to compare side by side, go listen to "No Long Talk" off More Life and then "Trap House" by Smoke Dawg, who was a close friend of Drake's and arguably ran much of our music scene before his passing in 2018
