thank god ed sheeran doesn’t have a smash hit christmas song. those ~3 weeks in december are gonna be the only time for the next year where i can go to the gym, supermarket, or any other public setting without having his music shoved down my throat

not even really speaking on the quality of his music, it’s just dude makes the most inescapable s*** i’ve ever seen in my 23 years. makes early 2010’s bieber look like he was underground

the logic behind it isn't even good or interesting and is completely surface for the most part. it almost seems like marketing fluff at this point

and this isn't really a fully formed thought but any artists religiously sticking to an album naming convention over a period of 5-10 years is weird and restrictive and honestly probably a bad indictment of how if at all their music has developed in that time. so for example i dont really fw asap rocky that much but i can at least give him credit for moving on from the LLA/ALLA stuff with testing and presumably his next album.
