bruh you know what the problem is? They tried to play with our expectations.
They made that creepy old dude the cop instead of just having him be Matt Smith's character, and then have the reveal that shorty from the past is a serial killer who happens to be her landlord. It felt like a twist just cuz he aint want the obvious to be the obvious when that would've made for a more coherent movie. Plus the time travel aspect getting dropped in the second half was wack, cuz Edgar was really showing his ass with the creativity of it in the first half. I still liked this movie but it could've been way better
Word I agree fam. I’m tryna think what direction he should of went instead to make the story better. But yea I would have preferred all the time travel s\*\*\* only existing when she sleeps in that room. Rather than it steeping into her reality and making s\*\*\* all wacky. It actually didn’t make sense with her reality getting f\*\*\*ed up like that

I think MAYBE one idea I’d run with for the second half is by the midpoint she realizes Anya character is being pimped out and possibly murdered and she keeps trying to do the time travel to solve what happen to her? Idk but I would definitely remove the whole hallucinations in her reality cus that defeats the purpose of the room being what it is

yea. they kinda tried to hint at it in the beginning with her being able to see her mom. but still they don't really make sense of it

bruhhhh that would've been so fire time travel, murder mystery on some Nancy Drew s\*\*\*? then she could've figured out that old boy was her pimp

Yeah bro. All he had to do was simplify it down. But instead nigga went all wacky lol
finally downloaded a rip of this & it was alright, was feeling the first half but it started to lose me the further along it went. last act began feeling like a chore to get thru
Recently watched neon demon and I can't help but feel like wright drew a lot of inspiration from it for this

true. also felt like he must’ve watched jordan peele start making good horror after comedies & made him wanna try his own giallo thing
When she left the library and started running it looked like an h&m or perfume commercial
Really liked it. Especially the climax when it delved further in that identity switch dreamlike territory
One of the best first acts I saw last year s*** had me locked in and on board for anything
Just watched. Great movie until about at the half way point, then it got super cheesy with the ghoul-like ghosts and obvious old lady was bad twist
Also Eloise was definitely dead at the end of the movie. Everything seemed too good
RIP Diana Rigg
Felt like the movie kept hitting the same note over and over
Cool movie but nothing special
That shot of the older lady sitting on the bed in the fire was hard af though
That was her hell
The Giallo-esque lighting was sick. The points been said to death itt but it really loses steam in the back half the last 40-50 mins felt like eternity.
Wish this was better
