went in blind and my god i f***ing hated this. loved every one of wright's films prior too; adored most of them.

hard to talk about the reasons without spoiling anything but it goes past just bad into some weirdly gross and exploitive territories. first thing i saw leaving the screening was a girl balled up on the floor crying and i wasn't at all surprised.

genuinely so shocked by how badly almost every single aspect of this film was fumbled outside of that stuff, too. just doesn't feel like an edgar wright film at all.

LMAO i knew i should’ve phrased that post better when i said exploitive i was talking about how it mishandled its of themes sexual violence, not anything fun.

i promise u it’s not the over-the-top gory texas chainsaw type film some of u prolly imagined. quite the opposite, sadly. more like if like if malignant and promising young woman had an abhorrently un-self aware lovechild. something tells me there’s gonna be a lot of video essays about this movie
