But why haven't scientists just observed eels in a tank to see how reproduction happens ????
I thought they release eggs for the males to come and fertilize them like most other creatures.
Has this not already been observed and proved?
dont they have eels in captivity? how have they never seen them reproduce? doesn't make sense

I think it's just that researchers have yet to capture exact details/recorded evidence of what transpires in these breeding grounds which these eels have been migrating to (tracked via satellite transmitters).
They do know of existing migratory routes for the the eels though.
Aliens underwater is very plausible. We give assumptions based on our own understanding of how WE’D navigate water (“we need oxygen tanks”, “we need subs”, “it’d be impractical to build a colony down there”).
But Aliens probably have whole bases or cities deep underground & underwater.

Whole thread is based off outdated findings
Eels do have balls they just dont come in until late in their lifetimes when they absolutely have to reproduce. Eels also evolve over time so early in their life they’re looked at as a different species entirely, thats why scientist for hundred of years believed Eels had mo means of reproduction.
Now the fact Eels in their early lofe form cannot be traced and no one has ever seen one get created is still a mystery however Eels at some point in their life do have eggs…we’ve just never seen it. So they may be aliens but it’s in the air still.
