Don't believe these false parrotted Republican talking points man. I don't know if @Skrilla is maga or just dumb but Margaret Sanger worked with W.E.B. DuBois and was praised by MLK
It's not really a Republican talking point lol.
Forced sterilization amongst the black community was common around that time. And a lot of black people were against it when planned parenthood was introduced including black Panthers, noi (for obvious reason). And her supporting eugenics is sus. That may have not been her intention with plan b, but it's not such a crazy thing to say that "plan b was their plan a to lower the counts of our families".

Honestly it is a republican talking point to an extent but there’s legitimacy to a lot of these claims that I’m not going to ignore and dismiss
People say the exact same s*** about the CIA f***ing the civil rights movement up, about the war on d**** and crack being planted etc
It’s not unreasonable for Black people to be cautious of a lot of this government stuff
Song is good but I'm not a fan of the subject matter of Kanye's verse, the "who you think you talkin' to? NERD" part is fire tho

Well first, the plan B pill wasn't developed until the 1980s, two decades after Sanger's death so you really can't pin that one on her.
And yeah, looking back, eugenics was a terrible f***ing idea. But at the time it was a widely accepted worldview. You'd be more likely to find a medical professional that believed in it than didn't. Unfortunately there were a lot of people that used this belief to further racist ideals, but there were also a good amount that didn't believe in any form of race eugenics, mainly focusing on those mentally and physically disabled. WEB Dubois himself believed in eugenics--it was just a popular belief of the time. It wasn't until WWII when the Nazi's used eugenics as an excuse to commit mass genocide that the world took a step back and realized that it's not a great idea.
Also the Black Panthers did widely oppose abortion and abortion clinics. And I really don't blame them considering the f***ed up s*** the government inflicted on black coommunities at the time (like higher rates of forced steralization in the South, although I'm not sure if there's any evidence PP ever committed this I'd need to do more research). They had every right to be distrustful. In fact, the abortion = black genocide movement still continues on today. Here's a good interview on the subject for anyone interested Link. But there's really not a lot of concrete evidence that Margarot Sanger started Planned Parenthood specifically as a means to control the african-american population in America (there's a decent amount of evidence to the contrary actually). It's almost become a conspiracy theory and you mostly hear it these days from people like Ben Carson and Ted Cruz who are using it for their own political motives. Someone else you might hear espousing this belief is Dr Umar Johnson, who is better known as a meme these days.
But if we go back to just what Kanye says "Plan B was they plan A to lower the count of our families". That really just seems to hit at the very concept and widely available access of birth control, which I just can't agree with. Dr King himself was a huge proponent of the use of birth control within the black community as he said it gave black men and women increased economic freedom by having control over their own reproduction. And if you're anti-abortion, then the best way to prevent abortions is effective and available means of birth control. I think it's a dumb, reckless bar
Here's another really good article that I remembered reading in college but just now found: "Birth Control or Race Control? Sanger and the Negro Project"
Only knock is I wish the sub bass really thumped
It doesn’t hit very hard for how good the baseline is
I’m gonna see what up once I hear it too see if you right or you just ain’t bumping like that

Damn this fire

Gonna look into this more
cause I always heard about this, especially with if I'm not mistaken the Tuskegee study and the sterilization of black people.
But like u said supporting eugenics was pretty common back then, and there is no evidence that she was racist or prejudiced as seen with her work with Dubois and being praised by mlk. I just thought the eugenics thing was sus along with other things going on back then.
And even though mlk did give her props, just because he was man I wouldnt use his opinion to support sanger on birth control, because some black woman from what I knew were against the birth control movement, assata and angela davis etc, because even though it supported women liberation, there was sentiments of sterilization going on that infiltrate the movement.
I think what ye was trying to say was more so along the lines that even tho plan b was beneficial to women, it was still being used by certain white people, maybe not sanger, to push population control amongst the black community. This verse was written before he went super religious too, so I wouldn't say Christian anti abortion sentiments were apart of the line but again I dont know just my interpretation of it

For sure. And I think it's important to be honest and admit that Sanger was actually a proponent of compulsory sterilization. And although sterilization was and is a horrible, horrible atrocity committed in the name of science (one of many), it wasn't inherently racist.
It's a fact that black women were submitted to forced sterilization at almost double the rate of white women, but the practice itself was not exclusively or even majorly performed on BIWOC. Like the modern day prison system however, it was used as a devastating tool of a racist society. The idea of putting someone in jail for committing a crime, at its core, is not a racist concept, but we see today how it's used to target and control black communities. In the same way, there were Americans and local state governments that attempted to misuse the practice of sterilization (misuse from it's already abhorrent purpose) to regulate and dominate growing black populations.
I know it sounds like I'm coming dangerously close to defending the monstrocity that is sterilization or minimizing the harm it inflicted on BIPOC in America--two realities that cannot be understated. I'm simply trying to detail that while Mrs. Sanger was severly, severly misguided in her support of this barbaric practice, it by itself is not evidence of any racists ideals.
Edit: Now that I think about it, if we're gonna go hard against the founding fathers and Grant for owning slaves, people like Sanger should be included as well. While I believe that the majority of the work she did had good intentions behind it (seriously just think about being poor in the early 1900s and having absolutely no access to any sort of birth control, not even condoms. Having no contrrol over how many kids you have other than just not f***ing your wife. Think how economically liberating the access to birth control and abortions becomes) and should not be discredited wholesale, supporting sterilization, whether racially motivated or not, is comparable to owning slaves.
