I see where you’re coming from, Bloodborne is definitely one if their best and you could argue it’s their magnum opus for sure, but personally i think Sekiro is better
They (From) are way too good at creating a dark and spooky atmosphere for me to take Sekiro over BB. Imagine being one of the only teams in history of mankind to translate something Lovecraftian to another medium and pull it off this well
Don’t just take my word for it, Miyazaki has publicly stated that he and his team at the office consider BB to be their artistic peak

I can see that, BB is my second favorite but combat is very important to me and i really like the setting, level design and enemy/boss design in Sekiro so i enjoyed that more but BB is very very good

Not really. All he said was that Bloodborne was his personal favorite.
So is this gonna be like a swan song for souls-like games? Seems like a the culmination of everything they’ve done in one game. Also they’re working on armored core now
Cant see Miyazaki abandoning this style anytime soon

i believe seeing as that one demon's souls level alone inspired them to make BB
BB is also my fav artistically
I think Sekiro is even more aggressive than Bloodborne and DS. Since parrying is a way to fight back instead of just defending yourself. You’re meant to break the posture bar so attacking and then parrying are both going for the same thing. You don’t really ever need to roll back and wait for the enemy to attack or finish attacking.
exactly. the rhythm of fighting is so different in sekiro that i find it crazy you could just call it a ‘tweak’ to the existing Souls formula
when you master a boss or any enemy in Sekiro you will know when exactly to parry and when to attack. this means you can be pretty much be constantly on the offensive, especially against enemies with swords. this is something you just cant do in the regular Souls games because of the presence of stamina.
im actually lowkey sad to be going back to Souls combat because i love sekiro so much
but i know when i play it it will be great anyway
The ape in Sekiro is the best boss fight From has done
Nah Slave Knight Gael holds that title

They added a lot of stuff from Sekiros combat to this, I only got to play like 9 hours of the network test and let me tell you, best f***ing combat I’ve ever experienced
