but you can apply this to basically any game series no? it’s not like older entries are automatically invalid to play just because they’re not as mechanically or technologically complex

if you’re set on playing them in order than fair enough but if you really want to play this on friday then don’t deny yourself the opportunity tbh, there’s something really special about playing these games at launch when the community is most active. the other games will still be there to play and you’ll likely still have an amazing time with them even after running this

This is research b****. Watched all the videos out so far and only see that weird b****. Trying to understand why this has so much hype when it looks like big dark souls.

Honestly just the sheer amount of content it had. The open world, exploration, the story. I loved Skyrim because I could just get lost in it every time I play.

This definitely won’t have the depth of immersion/roleplaying mechanics that Skyrim had but it looks like it’s gonna have a huge amount of exploration so I’d say go for it combat will be worlds better than Skyrim too

Only got one screen shot if the frost biome. Still haven’t seen the desert one or even know what the last 2 biomes and other areas. Hella monsters/ bosses /npcs we haven’t seen yet.

Big dark souls literally sounds like the coolest s*** ever so yeah no wonder everyone is hype, plus it’s FROMSOFT?? They’ve been making some of the most fun and engaging games for a long time, why would there not be hype? Why do you sound butthurt that people want to play this so bad

It’s an evolution of ALL their games and what they’ve learned from the industry and their work so far, I don’t understand why it’s so hard for some of you to realize that and look deeper than surface level. I mean even if it does look like an open world Dark Souls there’s SO many new mechanics, new combat angles you can go for, more play styles, huge exploration rewards, story elements sound better than ever before, lore sounds just as interesting as the souls series. It’s beyond unfair to FromSoftware and all the effort they’ve put into this to call this game big dark souls and makes you sound like a f***ing lame lmao

Games cost 1000 bucks over here, I never buy games new. The only time I bought games when they were new was Black Friday 2018 when I copped RDR2 and Spiderman. I need to buy physical because of my internet situation and physical is woat on my launch PS4. It'll randomly spit games out sometimes/go into rest mode while I'm playing because of the touch sensitive buttons they used on the console. I'm saving all my PS4 physical games for PS5, just trying to finish every digital game I have on PS4

Would like to play at launch but too many reasons for me to wait. And I would like to play them in order tbh. I'm not invalidating the earlier games by saying there's something newer and better out, but I definitely feel like the experience would be affected if I played Elden Ring first. It's like if you played GTA 5/MGS5 before playing GTA4/MGS4. The latter are still great games, but your perception and enjoyment would probably be affected because you played the former first

There’s a similar effect like frenzy from bb in this game. And with the sect of mages that got their power from the stars. And that big dead ass squid . There may be some cosmic horror in this

I understand these games not being for everybody, but theres a reason why many consider either Dark Souls or Bloodborne the greatest game ever made

Thats how i personally feel about Bloodborne at least. Im not a gamer though, i’m not into gaming culture like that really and a lot of games i don’t even finish. I’m not skilled either.. but these From Soft games reign supreme above all other games i have ever played
