@Kenig
Did you beag the Dragonkin?
Theres an item called Dragonwound Grease that does extra damage to Dragon type not far from it, its in a lil cubby where a ledge is that ur horse cant fit
Wish i had it before i fought it
Yeah I beat him went to another cave and there is another one that doesnt one shot me but with a second phase so brutal its even harder lmaoo
+6 Bloodhound Fang absolutely SMASHES s***
Yeah it seems like +5 and up weapons make quick work of enemies from limgrave to the 2nd area
ER is similar to BOTW open world than anything else now that i think about it
If u have to pick a comparison
Yes
rockstar open worlds are just as empty as most
sure there a little encounters and s*** but it's all tiny s*** and nothing substantial or actual content, it's pretty much easter egg tier
90% of structures and areas are just empty or aren't really useful other than to give the sense of scope
if it was nopixel level, it would be way better imo
Ty you lol its not a special thought
Especially gta5 (not talking about online). RD2 is better and i do love that game still as mentioned previously before, n of course the game has "better" story n chars than this especially if you like/used to a more traditional or cinematic way.
Unless you really love mini games, theres not much else the world itself offers.
There are so many layers to the world of Elden Ring and a few others such as BOTW n Witcher 3.
The way of self discovery, self goals, secerts & putting pieces together yourself.
Mysteries you can solve if yoj feel like it, npcs & events completely misable & most of the time its not a one time thing like most games, but they actually continue on.
Theres even more i can elaborate on on the open world design but then it would be sooilers for the regulars n newcommers of this thread.
Its crazy, especially once you start exploring outside of base limgrave.
Another thing i love about ER n Witcher 3 than like a GTA or Red Dead is that the open World is not all it is, there are story exclusive zones, huge areas n events which most open worlds sadly dont do.
But yeah.
Yeah I beat him went to another cave and there is another one that doesnt one shot me but with a second phase so brutal its even harder lmaoo
Real lmao
It’s not the same. BOTW has way bigger gameplay loop
This game is literally “go here and attack this”
zelda is literally "kill ganon"
most of the game is optional
Yes
Feel like BOTW n Skyrim with Souls thrown on too
The exploration is top tier
zelda is literally "kill ganon"
most of the game is optional
Its gameplay is also literally kill this n solve a puzzle
Earth shaking difference
What else do you want, there are questlines n light puzzles too.
More alive than & in-depth than something like RDR2.
You wanna golf n watch movies like gta5 in a medieval post apocalyptic society?
tbh im not sure i would easily put the open world over the one in rdr2
i feel like theyre very different but goats in their own ways

I agree theyre very different, n again i still think the story n chars of rd2 are top tier.
I feel you, i was moreso comparing the elevation, exploration & things to find aspects.
Not mad at it tho n it would probably be in top 5 to 10. Plus the cities are great eyecandy especially San Dinece (however u spell it).

But yeah.
idk why people see an open world map and compare it to other games with big maps like they're all the same genre
like it's an action rpg, no duh it's not gonna fill out long exposition and focus on small details of making the world seem "real"

rdr2 is probably it's strongest feature imo

yeah exploration of this is def the best ever
i just wish there were more of those random encounters like the pot guy
Thats what makes worlds feel even more alive imo

Agreed and its also post apocalyptic
But there are great char moments in this game that made me feel immerse. Idk how long or where that dude been, but the talks with Rodericka made me connect to the goal of Stormveil and empathize with the people fighting.
Her talk of her crew too n how the grafting works was horrifying n saddening. Reminds u that there are "regular" people in this world. It aint all just u n baddies.
Not to sound like a stan but I feel like this argument in general is missing the context of the world at the time in its lore and purpose/role of your character in elden ring. There is a reason the open world is the way it is, it’s in a period after mass severing and change. I think the thoroughness of that is done perfectly (at least from what I’ve played so far)

An encounter i still havent found is that rat guy from the beta test that disguises himself as trees u just reminded me of that
I wonder where he is in limgrave unless they changed the location
I believe there is alot out there just like with this dude im talking about, but its just not as straightforward or noticeable as most games.
Hell nah this is the best culmination of what the team delivered so far. Hope their next game is operworld
It definitely will be. A lot of people love it. At least Bloodborne 2 by Bluepoint will most likely be a closed world.

It is technically post apocalyptic after all lol
This easily trumps any game I’ve ever played, I have to force myself to stop playing every time
Just sat at a grace, went away for 10 mins, came back and the maiden lady was just sitting there with a button saying 'I'll go too', now I'm in a kind of hub area I think I missed a cutscene, does anyone have a link to it? Obvs don't embed so it doesn't spoil it for other people, will be extremely grateful
One thing i’d really love to see is a decently sized town, like Majula
That would be dope
Majula is very unique in all souls n might be my fav hub tbh
I think ds2 is the worst of the FS multi universe, but i still think its way better than most give it credit for
I played all three souls in order last year on ps4 getting ready for ER

WE know, but people always see souls games and criticize as if the entire universe of these games is always during/after some catastrophic events
bloodborne prob fits the best since it was full of tiny lil villagers and beasts in the town, but that's just the most direct imo
