It's not about "deep" its about well crafted and fun. Gael is a perfect fight. Radahn is a big sloppy mess that's main redeeming factor is it it looks cool.
Mechanics sloppy but the radahn theatrics /build up was top notch

Nah dude you havent fought him in the right level then. If youre fighting gael underleveled then he is really just a massive health bar. If youre done with the game I would recommend fighting him in new game+ to see for yourself. It really does make all the difference if he doesnt one hit you with a normal attack.
Also Radahns moveset is incredibly well telegraphed, all the attacks can be learned and easily dodged and his attacks can be baited and manipulated. The comet attack is easy once you get it.
And lore wise he is just as great as gael. Both fights at their best are very comparable imo.

Dude I've replayed DS3 so many times you don't have to tell me lol
Radahn is telegraphed and really not that hard, but he's aggressive as f*** meaning you're spending a lot of the fight just standing there or chasing him waiting for his dumbass combo to end so you can jump in, poke him a few times and repeat. Also the camera in this fight sucks. The flow just isnt there like it is with Gael and a lot of the other From bosses.

100phys greatshields really are op as f*** tbh in this game tho
You dont even need a gigantic stamina bar to withstand more than two attacks like how you do in Dark Souls

The golden shield from the original boss you die to but can come back later is my go too
Wasnt that hard imo i fought him straight up
Only annoying thing was how he would box you out with the gravity fire barriers with his strong attack, but u just gotta wait for it to cooldown then rush in n out

I still think Radahn fight is way sloppier and poorly-er designed than any of those fights

im just saying give it time. The community always had to warm up to the bosses also the lore preachers also shine a new light on the fights too. Once we got the strategies and „the right way“ to approach these fights theyre gonna be amazing is my point

I'm sure people in general will calm down. I dont think my opinion will change though. I mean, I know how to fight him and Malenia already so its not like there will be some big revelation. I just dont think theyre that fun mechanically.
