Yeah Bloodborne wasn’t as big on release, it was an exclusive so i wouldn’t say it made them go mainstream, most people didn’t even get to play it. Ds3 was when everyone knew Fromsoft

Yeah Bloodborne did, mainly cuz of the Sony first party hype n its success at the time way exceeded everything previously. It had a perfect storm of stuff.

Bloodborne was a critical darling too & used as a major of example of "true next gen" gaming. Sony didnt have much First Party titles at the time either & supported it a lot.

Its what led the success to DS3 n Sekiro n why they became a bigger deal, but a lot of peoples first were Bloodborne, like how elden is now (but of course WAY bigger scope). Bloodborne created a new wave of fans, like how ER is now doing.

Me being one of them, BB is what made me & a bunch of others finally buy a PS4. My first Souls title, n at the time considered Sony's killer app until Uncharted 4.

BB was huge for the time & the most successful PS4 title until U4.

It definitely did make them go mainstream. They were considered niche & still relatively unknown until BB, and BB was considered their first system seller by Sony.

BB was also pushed heavily by Sony, & this is when Sony was smashing Microsoft 4 to 1 with consoles.

Elden ring is of course like 10 times more successful than anything they ever done tho, its more successful than most things any company have done period.

It created the next gen of FS fans that supported DS3 n Sekiro, just like how ER is doing for their next titles.

There is now 3 (really 4) major influxs of FS fans.

The OGs of Demon's Souls, the vets of DS1 n DS2, the now more general fans of BB, DS3 n Sekiro & now "everyone" with Elden Ring.

Might try a quality build, thinking I’ll run the Naginata with bloodhound step.

Fire spells/weapons or fire grease

I wish, the most ive noticed is that Ligntning Spear might of had a slight boost to its range
