Is it possible to upgrade the defensive stats of armor pieces? Let’s say I find a dope looking shield but it’s defensive stats are kinda wack. Can I somehow make it give better protection? Last time I checked I could only upgrade its Attack stats, but I want to give it better defensive stats.
you can upgrade shield which I think reduces the amount of stamina you lose when blocking hits

Ah, just read a bit about this so you're right. Thanks!

no worries fam
you used to be able to upgrade armor in other dark souls games but armor in this game is pretty t much useless tbh, just for fashion which is fine with me
Fire giant whoooo? Got em first try
Black Knife Tisch be carrying my ass tho ngl
Commander Niall tho? I struggled ngl. Lowkey feeling my moonveil is falling off.
And now I dont know where I should go. Feel like I should upgrade my weapons, still rocking moonveil +8 and a metorite staff
finding higher level somber smithing stones is such a pain bro I just want to upgrade Reduvia
Just beat the game
Got the Ranni ending by accident because I hit her summon sign thinking it was a message :koolaid:
Some of the last bosses were kinda bullshit in their move set but thematically really cool. This is the first FS game where I really think they dropped the ball on the boss movesets because a lot of them are just plain unfair
I don't think any boss move-sets in the game were ever unfair, actually I think the very last boss had the only move that was somewhat undodgeable in the whole game (the stars that follow you)

The star attack,
Radagons teleport is often followed up by an attack that roll catches you.
Also the fact that radagon and Elden beast are basically both full bosses but you have to beat both of them in one life. Magic was unusable here because I had to allocate all my magic flasks into health flasks just to survive.
Malikeths moveset in phase 1 roll catches you almost every time if you melee him. His phase 2 aoe is often undodgeable if it wasn't for the pillars.
Godfrey's phase 2 ground breaker was undodgeable for me
Malenia's dogshit flurry attack will one shot you every time unless you watch a video on how to dodge it.
Just wasn't as enjoyable as other Fromsoft bosses and completely relied on you having the vigor and flasks to outlive the boss sometimes.

I won't use the word unfair to describe any of these tbh, if you are talking about the chasing stars from Elden Beast then yeah that one is pretty bs but all the other things you mentioned aren't unavoidable.
I don't recall Radagon having a teleport attack thats unavoidable and I didn't use a guide for Malenia and I was able to figure out how to dodge her flurry attack too. I'm not saying the bosses in this game well designed, i'm just saying that it was never unfair. Literally near every boss in this game has been beaten at LV1 without taking any damage
i’m telling you i did that and he didn’t touch me lmfao so you’re saying i’m lying?
y’all like an easy boss, that’s all there is to it
Wth are you saying lmao dont act like one of the git gud memelords bro difficulty isn’t all that makes a boss
his design, moveset and music is super epic brooo

Yeah obviously every boss can be beaten at level 1 bro. That doesn't mean that they can't be unfair.
Fromsoft games difficulty have always always been justified as being "hard but fair" in the sense that if you got hit it was because it was your fault and you dodge to early or too late or you attacked at the wrong moment.
This straight up doesn't apply to many of the bosses in this game but it doesn't usually matter because of the amount of health, flasks, and damage you have at your disposal.
The game is still a masterpiece but the boss combat design is a serious step back from previous games and just feels like artificial difficulty sometimes when this wasn't the case before. Like in the case of malenia and maliketh, these are moves that are ruining otherwise really cool bosses that become just super unfun to fight.
It shouldn't be that the only way to dodge malikeths aoe is to have him glitch into a pillar. You're telling me they couldn't design anything better?

So you are saying that in this game it wasn't your fault if you died to Malenias or Malikeths attacks? The attacks were just unfair and you couldn't do s*** about it?
What move makes malenia unfair? You can dodge every single one of her moves with 100% success if you time it right
What move makes malenia unfair? You can dodge every single one of her moves with 100% success if you time it right
Even better, you can predict her AI. After attempting her for a few hours I found out she does her flurry attacks when you deal around 30 or 40% damage to her, so you know when to disengage cause she's about to do it. It sounds like people had like 5 attempts at her, declared it was unfair and just looked up a strategy on youtube without figuring this s*** out themselves

Malenia you could dodge her flurry only if you were far enough away to run from her first set. If she started that s*** up and you were mid attack you can say goodbye to 90% of your health since the first part is impossible to roll through.
Maliketh was impossible to roll away from his aoe. Only way I could kill him was by getting him stuck behind a pillar. So that he wouldn't reach me.
Radagon can combo his teleport in a way that you either get roll catched after he reappears, or you eat the teleport damage. Either way, you take damage. Yeah it doesn't happen all the time but it is bullshit when you get bad rng and he does that to you.
The game is no longer "hard but fair" if you don't get a fair chance to avoid damage on these fights unless you have full knowledge on their ai and have to bait and cheese them in certain ways.
Its interesting to me how people always complain about the best and most challenging bosses of the series.
There is a pattern here. From Gael, Midir and Nameless King to Orphan of Kos all the way back to Ornstein and Smough I can remember all of them getting called unfair and unbalanced. Now theyre fan favorites.
Not just bosses but also games. Boy when Bloodborne came out with that loading screen time and Dark Souls with that miserable Blighttown perfomance.
Now you can look past that or not but to me even with those flaws theyre all 10/10 games. It is what it is

I best nameless king and orphan of kos and didn't think they were unfair. They never had straight up undodgeable attacks. Those were fun and are deservingly praised. Fromsoft dropped the ball on the bosses here imo
I am not saying git gud btw if you get frustrated by something thats on From Software imo. I just welcome people to look past that and not get too hung up on the „its not fair“ aspect

Good checklist for all the bosses in the game
I still got Altus Pleateau, MOTG and CFA to do but I have almost entirely every other boss beat
The only ones I don’t are a couple invasions and 2 bosses in Caelid that I just didn’t get to yet…. Godskin Apostle and the Knight of the Great Jar invaders
Recusant Henricus just won’t spawn for me so that’s frustrating I won’t be able to beat every one until NG+
I killed Patches accidentally so I don’t think I can get the Great Horned Tragoth invasion
And I killed Mohg before I killed all 3 of the Nameless White Mask invaders…. Only killed 1 and I thought I read if you kill Mohg then you can’t go back and defeat them but I’ll have to double check that one
needed this earlier, being a completionist is killing me
