One thing I’m not liking about ER, and from what I can tell FromSoft games in general is the janky way of shuffling through spells/incantations. There are way too many ways they could’ve made it more intuitive to use. Sometimes feel like I’m playing a game from 2005 having to scramble to find the incantation I wanna cast

I mean unless you want keybinds which only work on pc, or if you want them to be combo input related i dont see how else you change.
Most console rpgs is like that or they only let you equip one to two at a time which are mapped to a button input, but Its up to you how many you want to shuffle thru in ER.
I only keep to 4 spells at most, then swap around for situational things like some spells that work better on a boss etc. I also sort them in my equipped slots of ones i use more frequently. Its very customizable like that.
Of course having 8 spells on u at once is gonna be a hassal to shuffle thru especially in mid battle.

Coulda had you if you were Xbox fam or if the gaming industry didn’t have its head up the ass when it comes to crossplay
How tf is this game not crossplay smh
Yeah Linuria (idk if thats how its spelled) is def my least fav open area.
Only things i really care about there is flooded town & the mini dingeon that leads to Ranni. The Academy imo is the weakest Legacy Dungeon too.
Theres also not a whole lot there compared to Caelid n Limgrave, n it just feels too boring n melancholy-like at times. I wasnt hot on it in my OG playthru but my NG+ run solidified it as my least fav imo. Caelid n Limgrave are more in depth, while Mountaintops n Altus is more threatening & exciting to me.
Still decent to good tho & the Academy is still fine, but I love all the other areas way more n dont really have an issue with any of the others.

Wish it had a photomode too
Of all the random ass n dinky games that come with a photomode these days, this is the one that says nah SMH

Ehh all you gotta do is look at almost any other game tbh. Dragons Dogma figured this out a decade ago. Spell casting and archery in Dragons Dogma make this game feel like RuneScape or someshit.

Dragons Dogma is basically combo based and/or mapped to buttons depending on the class, and the spells plis weapons are split between classes so you cant load everything up at once on your char nor use everything in a single fresh playthru.
Something like witcher is combo based n something like skyrim only lets you equip one at a time.
Dogma splits all their gear n mechanics between their classes while Souls lets you do whatever you want with any char.
Its not possible in Souls how its built out their systems are diff. Dogma is class based while ER is not, & dogma has issues that are clunky with using items. They both have their ups n downs aince theyre on console.
But just sort your spells or carry the ones that are actually used the most in your ER playthru.
Not a big deal imo n the ability to organize makes it easier for me.

Just sounds like you fanboying out tbh. They can easily change up the control scheme in a way that keeps the core gameplay the same. Scroll through 6-7 spells to find the right one in the heat of battle isn’t it.
Of course DD has issues, doesn’t mean they can take something it did that was legitimately great, and tweak it for their own

Literally how am i fanboying i gave reasoning for the issue and gave a suggestion to make it easier while you brought up a game that operates totally differently
Scrolling is easy lol as long as your equipment isnt a jumbled mess. I didnt say it was perfect lol all console rpgs including dragons dogma is cumbersome in areas while pc rpgs are way better in terms of ui and inventory due to literally having multiple buttons. Souls gives you a lot at your disposal but its up to you to sort it out.
But ok lol.

Whether it’s easy for you is subjective. I don’t think it’s subjective whether the system itself can be more intuitive though.
If a fight feels stupid or unfair in this game it just means you need to explore lower level areas first and level up
you’re right but I’m too stubborn and just want the twinblade already
Just summon bro. Everytime a boss tries to 2v1 just make it a 2v2
… I’ve been using mimic tear +6 and it doesn’t even help much tbh lmao the poison spit attack is crushing my boy

I said its easy once you sort it out & dont have everything crowded or a jumbled mess, i didnt say its easy from the get-go
Also to your edited comment if they copied Dragons dogma then they would have to literally change their entire system to something similar lol. Which was part of my point of breaking it down. Dragons is tied more to button inputs due to you having less s*** to deal with since they literally split all the equipment n spells between classes.
You cant have or use everything in DD at once like Souls so Souls cant copy that system unless it wants to become hardcore class based n more restrictive in that regard which would take out its huge customization & build variety, which is a major feature for Souls. Dragons dogma system will literally NOT work due to how different they operate. Theyre not similar games at all outside of being challenging in a medieval-like setting.
Only thing i can see is if you hold up to open up n pop a weapon wheel (but for spells) to see everything at once to select like how Monster Hunter does with its item inventory. Besides that theres not much you can do on console due to the flexibility and amount of s*** you can use in ER & not having enough individual buttons.
But yeah lol.
The inventory issues i have mostly is that i wish i was able to favorite weapons and other items in the menu n sort them out by that. I think DS3 had a favoriting option but i could be misremembering.
I like collecting all weapons n spells so being to sort out the ones i actually have builds for, upgraded n like the most would be awesome.
But i also understand im in the minority n me being a hoarder instead of storing what i dont need in the hub chest is partly my fault, but the option would still be awesome.

bet, what platform do you play on?
