It’s their magnum opus, i wouldn’t recommend playing it right after playing a souls game. You’ll get the itch eventually and then you’ll have Sekiro to scratch it

Blood n now Elden is usually called their heights from what ive seen

But there are an aggressive vocal minority that think Sekiro is so above everything else

Sekiro story is weak/regular tbh

Elden Ring is literally the perfection of the Souls formula imo along with the best lore

ngl I still feel like the level design of ds1 is above everything ever made in videogame history. Also the story and atmosphere. But yeah theyve made better games since then.

Doesnt matter I love all games just feel like sekiro is a odd choice for favorite since its so linear and strict also the lore is the weakest imo

I played DS1 super later but i can def understand especially for the time.

But yeah DS1 is still high up there, i would say DS1, BB & ER are the 3 kings for most ppl. From what i notcied on polls, forums n youtubers.

DS1 super interconnectedness was only tried again with ER which i still respect DS1 a lot for, only BB is the other one that is the same field but still not as much.

I'll hold off on my true final verdict of ER after all the DLCs because people obv lump DLCs aytomatically when talking about the games, but ER is def top 3 for me along with BB n DS3 in top tier.

Then DS1 n Sekiro are middle tier for me.

Then DS2 bottom tier for me (n probly Demons but i havent played it, but i still think DS2 is a good game just the objective worst out the series ive played).

Love them all tho, i really need to play demons smh.

As a person that played it super late i agree to an extent but i can also see when talking of the time.

Plus DS1 still has the most intricate level design & high world building.

Its middle of the pack for me but i can understand why its still high for some people. Yeah apart of it is nostalgia i bet, but it still has good and still has unique qualities compared to the rest of the soulsverse. Only thing that really brings it down in todays time is the now more clunkiness, some bull hitboxes & some simpler AI but thats all due to age.

Rest of DS1 is still competitive tho i feel.

Don’t get me wrong DS1 was amazing when I played it but every time I go back it falls off in quality so much compared to the other games
It’s still a great game though, I wish the 2nd half would have been as great as the first half

I hope it gets remade in the next two years or so it deserves it

Leave it as is just have graphics updated n smooth some of the clunkiness n off hitboxes out

Would 100% be here for that.
