I feel like they might’ve revamped their skill system entirely. No more single scroll to look for a spell/incantation to cast. Or am I hopeless dreaming?
Might be time to finally run a NG+
or should I wait
I’m starting a new character tonight
I only beat the game once and I pussed out of beating Malenia
I got some work ahead of me
You got time to rectify that
Lemme finish my spellblade play through.
More than likely gonna use my Str/Faith/Arc character for this. Primarily use Frenzy Flame, Beast, and Crucible incantations. Marais Executioner Greatsword as my main weapon.
I do wanna make a full arcane build though. Primarily using daggers and dragon communion incantations.
Im rambling but what if its this spot:

and its literally hidden by a shadow from our sight this whole time going off this description from the trailer
And the world we travel through is hidden literally by this cloke and that is the real erdtree that we see

So im thinking its a bit of an anor londo situation where the edtree looked like s*** this entire time we just could see it because it was hidden.
Maybe the one time we see the real second erdtree is underground in the deeproot depths

When you NG+ can you make new character or how does that work?
Gonna enter the dlc at level 180-200 tbh. I do hybrid builds, and I feel like they work best around those levels with stat allocation

I’m not gonna do NG+, ima just start from scratch. But you can use one of those larvae with the boss at the Academy after beating her to respec your stats

I like to do theme builds and usually hit 150 max. I could see my golden order caster hitting 180 though cuz maxing faith and int would be necessary

Yea that’s where I’ve stopped for the 2 characters I leveled previously.
I mainly want to be able to hit soft caps. So for my spellblade, I’m doing a Int/Dex hybrid. So It’ll probably be a 60/40 Int/Dex split at 150. I might take it further to 180-200.
My for Str/Fth/Arc build, it’ll be 50/50/40. Mainly want to pump up Faith so I can use the Black Blade incantation for aesthetic purposes.
I hope they’re a lot more Briar spells and skills. Might do that on a dagger build instead of dragon communion incantations

I dont think its a real place in the map, for now, just based off that quote you out, i think It could be helphen the land of the spirits, which iirc had a tree as well. The shadow in this case would be metaphorical, since the Erdtree represents light, in its Shadow youd have death. But its speculation based only on that quote lol, ive watched the trailer once at work so i'll get back to your post later for sure, maybe you're right!!
Trailer dropped???????
no we are collectively hallucinating
Gating the DLC behind the best boss fight of the game was the right call, as if you needed more reasons to beat mohg
Im gonna use my draconic build character i think, its really fun to play with dragon incantations and my first character is in deep ng+ so hes not viable for my blind run

sorry for the horrible screenshot but thats definitely a bear incantation similar to the dragon communion ones right?!

I think it is, in base game runebears have reptile eyes and in the CNT they used to drop dragon hearts, so the connection is already there
Apparently someone else comes with us a la Gael in the realm of shadow based on the dialogue we hear. Just like Gael, probably a new character. Wonder if we'll fight her

Bears with dragon hearts
sounds rad

Dont know why they decided to remove that, would've made beating those f***ers more rewarding and would've given them cooler lore

Gotta be part of the Crucible incantations
might go finish my crucible knight build
