i agree NWTS was peak melodic drake. some of the leaks from this era recapture that vibe imo (need me / lotta 42 / sound 42 or whatever it's called especially).

it's funny because whenever I think back to IYRTIL i think it's all cold airy beats, but i relistened to No Tellin' and *67 recently and realized they definitely have that same layered melodic quality to them. but past that point those moments are few and far between

i don’t care if i get s*** for this.. starting to notice on most of his production for drake that OZ uses only one pad/sound a whole beat almost to the point that it feels too simple or too repetitive without many layers

i miss the production that would actually blow me away with unique sounds, multi layered beats, beat switches, like really anything from NWTS-IYRTITL, that 40 and 1da production. my favorite work from drake came on 40 and 1da beats... wish he would even work with vinylz again

yeah the little breakdown on both those songs are nice but overall the production is painfully simple
