Elysia Crampton Chuquimia's music is a surrealist, politically charged mix of jarring samples and influences ranging from traditional Andean music to metal, crunk, and R&B.

this is the sound of our water ceremonies, the 40 bands playing their melodies at once to recreate the cacophony of the first aurora & the call of the morning star venus.

On the opening night of the exhibition Across the Policed World: A Transnocturnal Huayño, artist and musician Chuquimamani-Condori proposed a talk to the public, which discussed anthropological papers fromthe Museum of Natural History written by Harry Tschopik Jr. in 1951-52, as well as notes on a translated excerpt from the Aymara chronicler Joan de Santa Cruz Pachacuti Yamqui Salcamaygua’s “Relación” from the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, and end with an oral history by Clyde Bellecourt of the American Indian Movement.

she's so good, love the E+E ep so much. the way she interpolates popular songs about heartbreak is so good. and the last track is one of the most beautiful ever
