I don’t understand the Taylor Swift drama right now
What I don’t understand is how Taylor went from huge popstar to literal global phenomenon in what feels like out of nowhere.
Don’t get me wrong Taylor was always big, but I’m not sure what exactly happened between evermore and Midnights that caused her to boom so big.

folklore sold 846K first week, incredible numbers, and then evermore did less than half of that, at 329K first week.
Then she had no huge single or no other new release until the day of Midnight’s release, and the album drops to 1.5 million first week sales. What exactly happened between December 2020 and October 2022 to basically double her star power?
