Listening to the song now, and it eerily speaks to his current status in some ways.
”Sometimes I just feel like, quitting, I still might /
Why do I put up this fight, why do I still write?
.
Plus it’s an objectively good song, beats hard, lyrics are relatable, and his voice is on point here (no screaming, etc)
people dont wanna hear that s*** anymore
song is objectively good
and i’m not saying the exact same song, obviously it would be updated for 2020/2021, but similar themes / sound / performance. i.e. not screaming, not rapping about nonsense, etc
You have to cal this song “8 Mile Road” in public or people think you mean “Lose Yourself”
he’s proven he still has rap ability, but i believe he lost the ability to appeal to people
a lot of his recent work is out of touch in some ways. there’s some songs on MTBMB and MTBMB B sides that have some “real life” element in them. But Kamikazee was basically a “fuck you” to people who hated revival, revival was self righteous and all over the place consistency wise, he needs to update his content
rabbit run is still pretty dope too
he needs to tap into the spirit of b rabbit from 8 mile
He’s already a legend I don’t think he needs to
he’s definitely legendary, but id argue he is kind of diluting that legacy trying to satisfy/appeal to everyone
he’s just gotta channel that 8 mile energy again
rabbit run is still pretty dope too
he needs to tap into the spirit of b rabbit from 8 mile

Discombobulated and She Loves Me probably the best tracks he’s made in the 2010’s (I know it’s 2020 but whatever)
Op Eminem hasn’t released a single good song in 10 years, why do you think he can still make music like in his prime?
