Whatever your f***ing name is now on here Dan. I know you have bumped this at least once
Honestly I like more songs I think than I don’t, about what I expected tho. There’s def a lot of cringe on here but I do appreciate how he finally leaned back into what ppl like about him rather than trying to make pop music, being a Bessie boy etc.
so many of listeners just dont get the comedie aspect of everything slim shady says . u dont have to take seriously anything that guy (alterego if u like) would say. just laugh or ignore and move the f*** on
Have to say Em laid the blueprint for the likes of Kendrick to dig deeper in experimenting with voices. Though I think Kendrick excels over everyone in all the other aspects besides the lyrical miracle part, Em showed rappers they can always go that extra mile and be a bit more theatrical.

And Outkast
my favs:
1) Fuel
2) Guilty Conscience 2
3) Lucifer
4) Renaissance
5) Antichrist
I get the concept but still songs like Road Rage, Habits, etc. where he's just crying about Gen Z and not understanding pronouns is just kinda cringe and tired at this point. I find his bars on Lucifer, Antichrist, etc. more funny and interesting for this angle rather than being the 3820582305th guy to say "I don't understand pronouns!"
i know it's very soon but where does em go from here, thematically speaking?
old school dusty beats w smooth slick flows is what i want

nah that was slim shady and hes dead now

People been saying this for years, but this album needs to be the end of the lyrical miracle stuff. His next move should be akin to what Nas has been doing the past few years.
Link up with an underground but respected producer, give us dope flows over amazing production, and keep the projects short and concise

I mean I get it lmao. I'm just saying Slim Shady LP was great because he found creative ways to say edgy s***. On a handful of these songs, he's just repeating right wing twitter talking points lol. I wanna hear s*** like "I bet it's my ex, Molly, that I've bludgeoned to death. Already severed the head, I smell the fresh scent of flesh rotting" or that transgender cat line not "All these pronouns I can't remember"
Each listen gets better, and you really do have to run the whole album straight through

i mean what was edgy in '98 vs what was edgy in '24 r different

Yeah I know, I was agreeing with you, just expanding on what you said

well hes still saying pretty creative edgy bars on here too. It's just he also got verses that are just lazy and repeating those talking points without anything clever behind em.
Still surprised Dre let Eminem cook him over the Dee Barnes assault on og Guilty Conscience apparently he only knew him for a few days

I’d say there’s a decent amount of both. There are a lot of lazy cancel culture and Caitlyn Jenner lines.
But also there is a decent amount of clever edgy stuff too. The diddy cassie line, the spelling line, the Candace Owens diss. “Never over till Lizzo sings” has me dead

100% and I still do like a fair amount of songs here but yeah stuff like Road Rage and Habits are just so lazy and tired even if they're meant to be satirical, its just the lowest hanging fruit to play on.
As things go, it's still easily his best album to me since Relapse. But like its still a mixed bag
