I've always liked it alot tbh. First time i heard old slim again i was completely blown away. Eminem from 99-03 is my favorite rapper ever.
Tbf I mostly play the album
thru Guilty conscience 2.
While the Skylar Grey and jelly roll tracks hit the emotions the first time I'm never gonna go back to them hardly.
Like I loved headlights but I won't go back to it.
But that section through gc2 is fantastic.
I feel you about replaying it front to back until GC2. Although Head Honcho verse surprisingly turned out to be one of the highlights of the album for me
Also with you on the more emotional tracks, not much replayability but fit somewhat in the context of the album. Especially it being about addiction (which a lot of people seem to overlook that aspect)
I like the vibe of the track. He goes on awhile about fat people lol but I like the production on it alot.
Yeah, all my obese people, if you're fat, proud, and you know it (Hey)
Raise your hand if you're shovin' food in your mouth at this moment (Mm)
This had some SSLP vibes

Yeah the addiction with slim.
And the meaning of the continuation of Slim would lead to the death of Marshall.
I liked the album and got the concept. Surprised many people don't. It's not that hidden of a meaning. The tracks definitely fit into the context. The death of Slim and what could've been the death of Em.

I think people couldn't get past the 'they're trying to cancel me' aspect which is a narrative thread on the album and not to be taken very seriously at all like... He didn't really said nothing too controversial here compared to past work
Renaissance is definitely a loosie.
No way in f*** that's all Ai.
If so Eminem should be using that flow for the rest of his life.
Not an old track per the booklet. But the lyrics of the first half suggest it was at least written around June 2003

June 2003 is oddly specific
Not a fan of a chorus tbh
Just take Sly Piper and Dem Jointz out the song entirely tbh

He mentions the headline of him reenacting MJ dangling the baby out of the window. He did this in June 2003.
give me a road rage reason

Does it say that?

i dont watch budden's show hardly at all but from the clips i've seen over the years, the guys he pods with seem pretty cool. budden is whatever but his crew seems solid
Does it say that?
The booklet says it was recorded at Effigy so that means 2008 or newer

Oh s*** lmao I was thinking it sounds like The Warning a bit which released in 09. Now it makes sense
I had to relisten to MMLP2 because it was along time since I actually listened to it and man am I glad that era is over.
There are some nice tracks but overall the album feels uninspired.
The production is lowkey ass and his flow is annoying as hell. Why was he yelling so much?
And the tracklist feels so random, you go from a gym song (Survival) to basicly crying the next song (Legacy) besides Revival this album is without adoubt his second worst album to me.

Agreed, I think the album is seriously overrated. People talk about it like it was his last good one but that was actually where he fell off for real

Definitely. It really cemented the worst parts of Em’s music in the 2010s and introduced new issues (overtly technical choppy deliveries). The beats outside of Bad Guy and Groundhog Day are horrible, and the choruses are so half-assed.
