I think people write off SSLP & MMLP as Shock jock raps when he had some real s*** on all 3 albums.

The reason The Eminem Show is seen as the most mature one was because his life was the most turbulent there and he had to respond to a lot of s***, so the content was hella personal

But it's not like SSLP & MMLP were just two albums of him yelling slurs lol

Em is 51. This is awesome for a 51 year old. It's witty, fun, self referential. It's great tbh.

MMLP is more raw and has more stellar production but some of the content didn't age well.

TES had the best replay value and content but the production wasn't as good as his first 2 and it lacked some of the rawness too.

I'll take this over some Not Afraid/Survival s***. Got a bad feeling his " edgy lines" will just be dumb, on some " I'll toss a transgender in a tan blender" type s***

The song seems pretty self aware of how stupid it is and it’s honestly fine. He’s acknowledging he’s in his 50’s and that this is perceived as corny, but he’s having fun with it. Also ya’ll gotta get over the notion of “aging poorly.” Culture isn’t on this linear track. Things come in and out of fashion. Certain sensibilities are corny or “edgy” in one decade and then they’re acceptable again or simply thought about differently in another.

I think Eminem just burned me out after all the terrible albums for years and years

SSLP had multiple songs of him lamenting being broke white trash & hating the life he was living yet they just act like it was 100% all comedy raps

For sure even though I don't think a lot of it aged well. However, when I was a kid that s*** was funny as hell to me and his flows were perfection.

I will always listen to his new stuff, but I honestly don't think he has done anything great since the 8 mile soundtrack besides a few tracks here and there.

So old em fans are content with receiving singles like this for 10 years in a row but suddenly he does it again after another 10 years without them, and you're complaining?
