anyone follow the emo scene out of asia (mainly japan, china, south korea)? japan's mainly known for shoegaze in their underground scene i feel like but ive been impressed with a lot of midwest emo style stuff recently

yeah thats what i meant by japan being known for shoegaze (classic album though), its usually kinoku teikoku or number girl people talk about

i was thinking more like toe, tricot, soha, arks, bloodthirsty butchers, etc. who are literally just japanese people cloning midwest emo styles

line between emo, shoegaze, and math rock always been super blurry even in the west tbf
