”Suburbia got a yard, all this estate for my mind to run” is such a vivid and beautiful line..
Not many albums changed my demeanor/outlook on life more than this/blonde did
what do you think now versus back then

Best question i’ve been asked all day. A lot of ways to answer that.
Music wise? Life wise?

Ive grown out of the stannery but Frank set a bar on a music level and on a taste level that I don’t think could ever be topped. Gave blonde a spin back in march after years of not listening and its always been so satisfying to come back to blonde/endless and find a new thing to love about it each time. I don’t think enough people can hear how labored over each song is, I’d love to be a fly on the wall watching frank figure out how to make a great song even better, and it was interesting to get even a glimpse into that process by comparing the nights demo to the final version etc.
Life wise I was a senior in high school and the album was such a crucial gateway for me engaging with not only culture a bit more critically, but myself as well; feeling encouraged to be a bit more keenly self-reflective, at a very coming of age point in my life, benefitted me a great deal and definitely influenced who I am a great deal. Hard for me to toot my own horn any more than that as we all grow and learn from mistakes/expose ourselves to our own blindspots as we grow, but I’m happy that I had friends at the time who encouraged me to use the album as fuel to be more self-interrogative. All in all 18 year old me has many reasons to be proud of who I am now, and I’d like to think I’ve done all that I can to do right by him. Thanks for asking man my kobe year is in 2 weeks i haven’t given myself the time to reflect on that period of my life in a minute

Why did asap call it a bullshit album?
He meant it like it was a decoy project for business purposes whilst Blonde was the true follow up and main offering.
