Grew up on the Dollars Trilogy and, like everyone who heard it, was obsessed with his soundtracks. Not to mention the Thing in later life. Once Upon A Time In The West too.

    RIP Legend

  • Truly the Maestro - we'll never be blessed by talent such as this again in the medium.

Impossible to choose just one score that sums him up best, but I think Once Upon a Time in America might have been the one where I really comprehended the pure range that the 'language' of the film score could have for the first time.

The man had themes that would burn themselves into your deepest memories for all eternity, and yet also seem like you know them intimately if you're only hearing them for the first time. He just speaks to the human experience, he was beyond language, it was all about energy, universal messages.

He and his work will simply be, and they'll continue to be - always.

    such a legend. RIP

  • Guess I'll be digging out my vinyl records of his soundtracks tomorrow, guy deserved so much more but I'm glad he was able to accomplish was he did. One of the absolute greatest artists of our time and the heights he reached are among the highest any human ever saw. Rest in peace.
