Eric went to Berkeley as a upright bassist? Oh this makes complete sense. His style of improv is compositional, you have a theme, you follow the basic theme and then you riff and then you go to the edge & come back.
Now everything is coming into focus. And it makes sense why he has the band in the shot every episode. It isn't just a talk show homage, that's his people as well.
FNM moment
" Wait... You're joining our band but you aren't leaving your other band?"
Patton: Hell No
That's the perpetual chip on the shoulder to always be that 2nd band.
"you still got your foreskin?"
"i think so"
Not even trying to troll but who?
The host of the Eric Andre show and the lead singer of Faith No More

I didnt know how to respond to that, it sounded like a subversive troll. You can just hit wiki and see the bio. Maybe I will respond in a nutshell response.
i have never heard their music before, carry stress in the jaw is brazy
Eric is really a Bungle head, it makes sense.
Eric likes a lot of crazy s*** lol. He's a fan of G.G. Allin too and has stated a few times on his show.

I think he is sincere. I don't expect most KTT2 users to be familiar with Faith No More or other Patton side projects. The bio comment is very valid but the "who" as a first reply on a thread will always be the preferable option for many users.
In High School, Eric was a serious fan of Mike's first solo lp. Now it all just clicks into place. He said he knew every sound on it. In fact, he says he had a friend and they would make all the noises in class together.
Serious MP Head to mention Adult Themes as a soundtrack to your school days. Thats wayyy off the beaten path. Because in order to get that, you would have to go to a record store that carried that specific label.
His comedy, his approach and that catalyst hitting your mind in high school listening to that over n over?
The fact that he referenced that, that says more than we will ever know about how Andre's mind operates.
Eric should do more Revolver interview's with whatever musician he wants to interview.
Only 35 minutes but what a great start to a new platform for him on his offdays in between seasons and live show's.

Thats right, he did say that. But holy s*** he really does know the Patton Universe, (so to speak)
Most people like Angel Dust, The Real Thing, first Bungle solo. But it won't be Tomahawk, Fantomas or Adult Themes.
He said he had Patton's solo record in his head in a classroom making noises from it and he said he had a friend in the same class who knew that record sound for sound. Florida is a crazy place.

No doubt, I agree completely. I don't expect people to be familiar other than the hit song possibly.
But that "who" is so old hat, Ive been worn down. I just can't entertain it anymore

I'm not the biggest Mike Patton fan, but Faith no more intrigues me a bit due to nostalgia and I really like California. I heard there's a new Mr Bungle album coming and I'll be sure on the look out

I like Faith No More but I like to think of that as like the appetizer to the other work outside of FNM.
Watch the Brixton Academy show from 1990. It's nuts because like the label thought this kid was going to be their teen idol their younger Kedis , their Robert Downey Jr of Metal.
You watch this and you are like holy s***, he's already miles away from everyone else. This guy is never going to be that Teen magazine idol because he's venturing to that other DOOR.
The band had to know this 2nd singer was going to make it seem like they didn't have a previous lead vocalist in the eighties. To have an ear that adjusted so fast for recording that material, its wild.
And then when the follow up record it was like
It's Halloween every day musically for Mike it seems.

I'll watch this when I'm free. Thanks
