honestly, even if this hyperpop genre does blow up (which i dont really see happening), it will most likely be a short trend
there is no way there's enough people who like this type of music to actually make it the next big sound
just feels like its bound to stay underground

i'd get this sentiment if you were talking about other people from the scene since some of the music being made isn't necessarily "accessible," but Ericdoa in particular has been playing with sounds that sound like regular pop music like on Fantasize, the night we danced, puppeteer, and back n forth--except with better production. It's not like he's doing some outrageous Death Grips style, so I don't really see what you're saying
plus Hyperpop literally isn't even a genre, every artist lumped under it contradicts what a genre should be, especially when you have people like Blackwinterwells, Osquinn, Funeral, and Kurtains clumped under the title. Kurtains has been making Indie music, Funeral had an alt-rock song get on the hyperpop playlist, and Quinn and Wells can make any genre there is. Hell, people even consider Uzi hyperpop, and Carti's own producers (Outtatown + Starboy + Gab3) started a collective called Hyperpop.jp
There's not one particular "sound."
