Gonna need this next one with Roc to be a breakout album for Errol that everyone is talking about in Hip Hop

i already know this is not how it's going to work for smaller artists, and discussion about smaller artists is part of the charm of a music forum

artist threads give you that cozy forum feeling

the hassle of having to make dead threads for everything you feel like talking about will make people consider even talking about it on here in the first place, at least that's how it's for me and i can't imagine being the only one feeling that way

woat decision, already hate having to make album threads instead of pinning artist threads so they can get more exposure

define “dead thread”

i think a multi-page thread that’s been “active” for a few years while the op is 80% of the posts is much more dead than having various 3-4 reply threads

Dumb f***ing idea jesus christ. Imagine having to make like a thread for EVERY Errol Holden project, artists thread are good for smaller artists and are also good to share general information around said artist like features, tour dates, vinyl drops etc. This is unnecessary as f*** man especially when the search on this site is so garbage

that's an extreme of an artist thread you're talking about but i would defend even that type of thread since it shows a passionate, even if very small circle of posters willing to talk about an artist

artist threads have constant potential to grow and actually make sense with the Saved Threads tab too, whereas various small threads make that tab pretty obsolete or even clutter it up

and i don't imagine there being many of those "various 3-4 reply threads" when it comes to certain artists in the first place anyway

I wonder if The Manhattan Project and the Mount Magneto album he mentioned a few months back are the same thing.

new features on the site are rolling out soon that will make an artist having various threads much more impactful than one single thread

basically every artist with a profile on DSPs will have their own “section”

it’s gonna look so sick when you click into the Errol Holden artist page and see a ton of threads

there won’t be a need for a centralized thread of everything bc it’ll already be grouped together

S has been working hard on some really cool updates lately, and it’s going to boost smaller artists way more than bigger artists

currently, since the labeler isn’t picking up on the artist name Errol Holden yet, this’ll stay open. but definitely recommend transitioning into making new threads for new releases.
