Hearing its importance to the album helps too, Erykah said she wanted to sing on that song for years and never caught a flow on it, until she got into the studio with alchemist a few years ago and they did that song. and she told him to pull up another beat afterwards and that ultimately lead to them wanting to do a whole album together

We are so blessed to be getting music from a legend like Erykah Badu at 55. It’s amazing to me how she can effectively be retired for so many years then lock in and make a project to this standard that stands up to her previous catalog. A true artist.
