I mean now, but if we contextualize it, the south can mean a lot of things. Ex: Clipse are known as a southern hip hop group, if you call them east coast you will get weird looks, in rap culture states like NC and Virgnia are considered the south.

I can do about 50 of these. Southern music has so many great and influential albums.

I don't know man them boys always felt east coast to me down here. Up there with DC and Baltimore and them. Invidivually, I would definitely never call Pusha a southern rapper. And Pharrell damn sure ain't southern. Timbaland I'll give a pass to if only for having a jug of kool aid with him in the studio
