you can smell the paco rabanne cologne
those are hubs tbh
america pretty swagless since basic b**** white christianity is it's core. america also never really took taking care of yourself or looking good seriously.
feel like most style and swag cause from confidence and some culture, and a lot of americans lack that
Whenever ya speak on America and fashion I just assume you mean white middle america. Because there is no way you think Black Americans don’t take “taking care of yourself or looking good seriously”.

I do mainly mean white ppl, but don't pretend there's not a s*** ton of black ppl with no swag, just look at a yeezy ig page or a mf wearin jordans and joggers lol

Never said that but I’m sure if you looked at the average broke nigga in Europe they would be wearing something similar or whatever is the equivalent. But what Black Americans don’t lack is confidence and culture. Some MFs just aren’t in tune with fashion like that.
Also if you come to London check in or I’m robbing you
“Oy run your s*** bruv”

yeah i feel you
yeah i feel you
I won’t cap tho it’s a lot of MFs wit no swag tho lol like you are probably more liable to see more bad fits in the US on average than some other countries.
It was cool when I saw someone wearing homme plisse in Venice
For it being a pretty artful city i was surprised to see the lack of unique style out there – no one really dressed bad but rather everyone rocking similar stuff. Lots of linen when i went, breezy silhouettes, etc

All the people you saw in Venice are tourists
The local community almost doesn’t even exist anymore

Yeh figured this was why, heard all the locals got pushed out to the mainland

Is there more you can say on this and/or do you have any reading/videos on this?

The city is just too expensive for people with regular incomes and the whole city is pretty much flooded with tourists so it becomes unbearable I guess.
Since the 1950’s 2/3 of the population have left.
For example normally you can get an espresso for €1 in Italy, in Venice you pay €12, not everywhere probably but at the San Marco square that’s the price.
There is a great book on this topic if you really want to get into the problem and the paradox of tourism by my fellow Dutch man Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer. Venice is a big theme in that book. The book is called Grand Hotel Europa and recently got translated into English I believe.

I'm definitely check out that book, thank you
And everything you said makes sense, just got me wondering how the city can support all that traffic if so many of the residents have left and it takes more than you can make from service industries to live there

I’m not sure how they do that. But I do know that a percentage of people working in Venice come from the ‘neighbouring’ city’s and don’t live there.
For young people living in Venice there aren’t a lot of economic opportunities. Tourism is pretty much the only thing you can get a job in and that probably doesn’t pay that well.
The young people usually move to the mainland to pursue their careers.
Now I’m curious as well what the percentage is of native Venetians and people who moved there that currently live in the city.

Yeah I'm not sure why that first paragraph wasn't the first thing I thought of but that makes sense and is how a lot of this world works now when it comes to people getting priced out of places
If you find anything in regards to the last thing you said let me know please

God damn 12 euro for an espresso, textbook tourist trap 😭 I stayed in between Rialto bridge and San Marco square and never paid over $3 for a cappuccino and/or espresso
Style is just more ingrained into day to day life in the places I’ve been to in Europe. Average dude there is just generally fresher than the average dude in the US or Canada. It’s not even that serious to them, they do it casually. Randomly the country I went to with the most stylish people was probably Norway lmao
