This sequence of events is insane. The clubs withdrawing so quickly is so surprising to me and it’s amazing that in a way fans still have that much power as they should.
It’s also probably influenced by rumoured payout promised by UEFA to the bigger clubs
People doing whataboutism with sky and it’s pundits are deluded. Sky and the premier league breakaway in the 90s wasn’t nearly as bad and at this point it’s pretty much irreversible

It the later fan pressure mean nothing
They been running on empty stadium for almost a year now
John Barnes hit the nail on the head with what he said
He won't have Sky reposting any of what he said for the next couple of days though, because it isn't their prerogative

Thank you. 'Whataboutism' is the perfect term for it.
This is bigger than networks & Neville said that. You can't have the owners of these clubs created this closed shop league.

What's your obsession with Sky?
What's your obsession with Sky?
I've been clear about already, they helped perpetuate everything that led us to this point. And they are actively hostile to fans, from inflated subscription fees to match scheduling, hell they are the ones who built up these clubs as the big 6.
Thank you. 'Whataboutism' is the perfect term for it.

Although I don't agree with what they were trying to achieve, I definitely think clubs should collectively have that sort of power over UEFA and FIFA. they are crooked organisations.

I was with people in disagreeing with the whataboutism while we were trying to stop this s*** from happening..
But now we've stopped it. I think it's important we look at how football got in this position.
I don't think Neville is a hypocrite for being paid by Sky but pushing for his club to spend hundreds of millions each transfer window is imo def part of the problem with football now. That mentality is why you got Real and Barca in debt desperate to join something like this
I think the whole Sky debate is a little stupid tho
Most of the s*** wrong with football has come as a result of clubs decisions and pushing for s*** that gets them more money. It's the clubs who embraced Sky and the money after all, it wasn't forced on them, they saught it out

Neville said last night that he’s been working behind the scenes with associations to make the game fairer and more financially regulated between all clubs

This
Integrity of football = racism, corruption, rich owners paying to win leaving bottom half in the abyss, s***ty tv deals
Super League = death of football, what about the small clubs?!

Not another one who's missed the point entirely
The argument for the integrity of football is about COMPETITION.
The ESL removes all of that, so the rich clubs can pat themselves on the back every year regardless if they deserve to be there or not.

pick one!
pick one!
You gotta tackle one issue at a time and the issue that was going to immediately impact all of the teams especially the smaller ones in a negative way was this nonsense. Everyone knows we just getting started with UEFA
pick one!
Oh, so those teams 'buying up without restriction' don't lose to Leeds? They don't draw to West Brom?
They don't finish 6th? They don't finish 7th? Not making it into Europe?
They don't lose to Everton? They don't lose to Brighton?
No, that's not 'competition'!
Idiot.

Anybody can have a one off day.

These issues have been existing for decades, never seen an issue get tackled and beat like this in 1 day, shows you what footy fans really value at the end of the day
