He was always humble, never let the success got to his head and looks like he was having fun during his minutes of fame. Forreal I wouldn't listen to a full project of him but the dude is cool
i agree tbh
what’s the general consensus on this
Honestly interested cause I feel like opinions on it vary a ton

i think it's corny that he posted it online but i don't think it was in bad intention

Corny for him to publicly post it. If he really felt that he shouldve said it at the show.
Drake went out sad too for complaining about him and others not getting a text message

So if he’d said outright in his speech Kendrick deserves this and left the award up there that’s good?

Yeah that would’ve been way cooler of a moment than him posting that text
I remember when they interviewed kdot about this. He basically said that it wouldve been cooler if he kept it to himself and not shared it.
Basically calling him a weak ass white boy that really cared what people thoughr about the snub
"very likable"

I think for the most part everybody feels like kendrick got snubbed but in a weird way understand. Goodkidmaadcity too thugged out (although an illmatic level album) to beat the poppiest rapper to come out at that time.

Strawman ^
Point is:
if he felt like kendrick should've won he could've adressed it at the show (acceptance speech if he wanted everyone to know) or reach out to kendrick who was there....
Nobody said him saying it during his speech would've been "better"
The timing reflects the urgency he felt to express that sentiment
Him doing it through texts after the show (+posting online) reads as hmm seeing how people reacted to it then decided to think about it and respond...

Wym I’m genuinely asking lol I don’t have a take on it at all

Sorry lol I'm just used to people arguing in bad faith on here
should've known your not that type though

definitely wouldn't have seemed as performative as posting his text online later tbh

That’s not going out sad, that’s standing by your work imo.

Its not corny for him to post it publicly considering all the s*** he was getting
Maybe not the text himself but I definitely see why he acknowledged it
when the goat gave his award to UGK/Outkast
