Sheeit I could never know, I’m taking the music route 2021 gonna be my intro to true entertainment industry stuff, I’ll be up there in the TV department in a few years tho all goes right

You can do it my guy, just don't be giving up! It's pretty competitive and to be real I'm not even that great of an artist. Just gotta fight for it.

I had a colleague who switched jobs to the competitor because it paid more (and maybe offered more for him personally). He said he’d stop working later (in a few days) but still showed up for work. Our boss was like « why are you here? Leave. »

And so he did, the coworkers met him later as this was in the same city, and while they didn’t like it per se they understood he was happier there and weren’t mad at him.

Take that story how you want.

I just got a message from the competitor of the company I'm at asking me to come in for an interview for a big project. Yall ever have some ish like this happen? They trying to set me up or whaat

Depends on what your current position is. If you're just entry level, you might not be that important for them to care about setting you up.

Yeah it's pretty cool. Can be hard if the people who make the models make mistakes. I started running a lot of meetings recently and that s*** isn't great. They don't really keep an eye on us tho so we could almost miss a day and get paid as long as the work gets done.

1 year for mixed art, then 3 in game development. Still missing a college credit tho, but still write it on my resume like I graduated

  • Yeah, all the time actually. But it’s moreso just other projects in general that want to bring me aboard. I don’t think I can ever go back to working for someone though. It would need to be an absolutely ludicrous offer with a substantial amount paid upfront to get me interested. Otherwise I’m just going to take a break after this is done and then start my next venture

Happiness >>> pay in most cases. Like I said, it’d need to be ludicrous to bring me back anywhere. Buuuut keep your mind open OP, if someone offers you a s***load of money seriously think on it lol

if it's all good with your contract and the competitor does make an enticing offer, make sure you go to your bosses at your current job and explain the situation. they might make a better offer

put yourself first OP, company loyalty in 2020 is just about nonexistent
