Just finished up SFG and Thank Me Later going through every album the next couple of days. Every Album is Aging Effortlessly. There’s isn’t another artist outside of MJ who’s albums have aged like this.

No there's is not. Drake is the pinnacle of music. I never seen an artist like this. Not only he sounds better with time, but time sounds better with him.

    TML aged really really bad

Everything else in the catalog is aging well. Sonically, success wise, it’s all there.

That’s why the drake classic talk is funny because the discussion ain’t abt if he has a classic, it’s abt how many he has.

SFG, Take Care, NWTS, are 3 sure fire classics that can’t be disputed at all lol

was about to post this, TML a product of its time and too scattered. I still enjoy it, but it feels like a guilty pleasure these days

    rest of the projects quality

I enjoy TML because I enjoy drake and I listen to it with my 2010 ears. But the rhyme schemes, the big, young moneyesqe production, the features seem completely inorganic and out of place for the most part, it sounds like a lil Wayne 2010 album with some drake dna, ya know?

Where as the rest of his catalog is far more enjoyable and less of a strain to listen to. He’s so much better at rap now.

But even with that, as with all the time greats, even on their worst projects you can see the greatness. Karaoke, the resistance, peak drake. But you can hear the big, YM influence on a lot of the songs which kind of bring it down

The Drake Classic talk is literally people who want a Drake rap album and are trying to force his hand to make one. But yea you're right TML has aged f***ing terribly but the rest have only gained more praise over time

Views is a classic off the strength of the moment alone. Music has held up fantastically. The issue is people were expecting something more rap oriented and that skewed public perception. I’d argue IYRT is a classic too

Yup basically and he didn't deliver on the rap songs, Grammys and pop style were bad, still here and hype are alright

I think if wasn’t labeled as a rap album it would’ve been received a lot better. It’s hard to put Drake’s projects in a standard genre box
