I know niggas ain't trying to hear this but Drake is a living legend and he's having the greatest run since Michael Jackson despite all the hate. It reminds me of prime Wayne the amount of hate he got on MySpace, Facebook and even Kanye Live back in 09 to 11. Now he's remembered as the godfather of every rapper today.

    Not really

No artist has been as consistent as Drake, he’s onto his 11th year and still has better quality control + consistency than his predecessors

Besides Kanye, no one really comes close

Streaming definitely helped Drake's domination streak. Everytime he drops, it gets in every playlist bc of his brand recognition. People just play it bc its Drake.
And he is far from over. Feel like we halfway through his music career.

In some ways it is and some it isn't. It's harder to get started because the industry is more over saturated now that the labels aren't the gatekeepers they once were. Once you get started it's even harder to maintain attention and consistency in your content now that album cycles are shorter. With social media every move you make is under a microscope and every critic's voice is amplified.

That's not even getting into the logistics of sales and how much harder it is to equate streams to sales so it's even more impressive that artists like Drake and Post Malone are racking in 1 billion first week streams. Saying it's easier for artists is a common misconception unfortunately.

I remember seeing Swifties on Twitter claim that nobody knows who Ye is compared to Drake/Eminem.

    This alone basically debunks that..lol.
