As for the societal implications, just imagine if 100% of the society were gay and look at what the problems would be. Then you can scale it back from there

Media isn’t “pushing” for anything; they’re just finally making an attempt to represent groups that were never included in the past. Do they sometimes pander? Of course, but an attempt at representation with some pandering missteps is better than no representation at all
